Mehr als 24 Stunden unterwegs. Schlussendlich, nach einer Tagesreise von Wien nach Irvine sind nun alle Decathleten des Team Austria rechtzeitig in Kalifornien angekommen. Nach erfolgreicher Registrierung und kurzer Sightseeing-Tour durch den Orange County Great Park durften wir die anderen Teams im ersten All-Team-Meeting kennenlernen – aber bloß kurz – denn in nur wenigen Stunden trudeln die ersten Container am Bauplatz ein. Nur neun Tage stehen zur Verfügung um das LISI-Haus aufzubauen – vom Fundament bis zur Bettwäsche muss alles stimmen. Der Wettbewerb beginnt.
